What inspired me to create Xan?
On April 26th, I took a look of Huanxing’s bilibili page occasionally and came across one of his article. I glimpsed and was instantly absorbed. I spent the whole night reading his article, following the pawprint of Huanxing. I finished all his articles very soon, eager to read more. Perhaps it was then that I started to think about writing my own Furry-Trek novel or something.
Then I saw this comment under the Kaedashev version of Fursona Huanxing
I thought maybe I could write something without war. Writing war happened to be not-my-thing. So, I began to consider writing “peaceful explorations”. I wrote several articles in Chinese, some about adapting to new furry body, others about an away mission on a desolate planet in the Delta Quadrant. But I encountered difficulties: I was not as talented as ST editors to draft a satisfying storyline. Mine was too concrete and grew dull word by word. So I gave it up.
Sometime after that, I reconsidered writing Furry-Trek articles. This time, I decided to write in English and focus on Daily life instead of war, more routine instead of adventure. This trend already emerged when I was struggling with my first series(the one mentioned above). What you’ll see soon is this new series, whose main character is Lieutenant Xan, a lower-decker.

Original

As you’ll soon see, Lt.Xan isn’t a sound officer in Starfleet where dozens of excellent officers shine like stars. He’s a small figure with flawed personality, not sufficient abilities and low rank. And he will stay that way for quite a long time.
At the same time, you’ll notice that there aren’t much conflict or drama, all you can see is an ordinary officer’s service life. He may outstand at times, but for most of the time, he’s a true “Lower-decker” who lives a relatively peaceful life in Starfleet.
Why?
On one hand, this represents my understanding of life in Starfleet. On the other hand, this casts my aspiration and part of my character.
